各位先進日安，小弟又來發問了，於假日完成DNS指向設定後，今天上班就接到客戶來電說outlook無法接收MAIL，
到場後發現所有人outlook都出現err plaintext authentication disallowed on non-secure (ssl/tls) connec的訊息，
上網查了資料說將 /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-auth.conf裡的disable_plaintextble_plaintext_auth設定為NO即可，
但我打開這個文件卻沒看到有disable_plaintextble_plaintext_auth 這個值，請問我該如何修改這個設定呢???

*) iRedMail 在之前的几个版本里就默认禁用了不安全的 POP3/IMAP 服务，而是只启用 POP3S (POP3 over STARTTLS) 和 IMAPS (IMAP over STARTTLS)。如果你非要启用 POP3/IMAP，请参考： http://www.iredmail.com/wiki/index.php? … t.STARTTLS

注意：我们不推荐继续使用 POP3/IMAP 服务，请尽可能地使用 POP3S/IMAPS 以保证信息传输安全。

P.S. 也许这是一次绝佳的机会让用户调整一下他们的 Outlook/Thunderbird/etc 设置，使用 POP3S/IMAPS。不要放过这个机会。:)

致ZhangHuangbin，謝謝您大力的幫忙，http://www.iredmail.com/wiki/index.php?title=IRedMail/FAQ/Allow.Insecure.POP3.IMAP.Connection.without.STARTTLS無法開啟該連結，
是否可在提供其他相關資訊給我呢?
我先試著將PORT調整到995並試著登入看看，目前還沒有設定過POP3S的相關經驗，感覺有點生疏，希望能順利解決問題了...

Since iRedMail-0.8.0, all clients are forced to use IMAPS and POPS (via STARTTLS) for better security by default. If you want to enable POP3/IMAPS without STARTTLS, please update below two parameters in dovecot.conf and restart Dovecot service:

File: dovecot.conf 
disable_plaintext_auth=no
ssl=yes

 

Again, it's strongly recommended to use only POP3S/IMAPS for better security.

Sorry，忘了现在 .com 和 .org 不是在同一台服务器了。请使用 .org 的那个 wiki tutorial。

ubuntu 12.0.1
編輯 vim /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
修改兩個地方
disable_plaintext_auth=no
ssl=yes
重開即可...
